Picture post

Just a quickie to say a huge thank you for all the comments I received on my last post - your warmth and humour helped me smile.

Several people had asked me to show the beautifully scented wisteria I wrote about here so, for all of you, a pretty picture.

Also - why does my soda bread look like an approaching sea turtle?

  1. Your wisteria is gorgeous - did it take ages to grow to that stage? I'd love to add one to our back garden, but wondering if I have the patience...love the turtle bread, too! Chrissie x

    1. Thanks Chrissie - we planted it about seven years ago and it's been flowering from the second year. It's just the bog standard type - nothing too fancy - but has been really vigorous. Go on - give it a go!

  19. Your wisteria is incredible ... is it pulling one side of your house down yet?! And I've thought and thought, but I can't come up with the answer to your riddle. I guess you'll just have to tell us the answer of WHY your soda bread looks like a sea turtle ... hmm? ... waiting ...

  20. Jane in here in Ireland they would tell you that your soda looked like that because you didn't prick the corners of your cross with the tip of your knife to let the fairies out! I always do that out of habit anyway but I think your real cause is it cut too deep in the cross. You only need to lightly mark it.
